Best Way to Get Someone to "Unlike" your Facebook Fan Page..

According to a new research study out by Exactarget and CoTweet titled "The Social Breakup", 44 percent of respondents listed "posting too frequently" as the top reason for unliking a brand on Facebook. The second biggest response was an overcrowded wall. Other top answers included content becoming repetitive and taking advantage of a one-time offer.

Perhaps even more shocking (or not) than the unlike reasons is over half of the respondents in the study said they have liked and then unliked a brand due to no longer wanting to see posts. The message here is clear - keep posts relevant and engaging. Don't post items to death and keep your wall clean. You can tell if you're doing a good job by the amount of comments and feedback your page receives, as well as the amount of unlikes received.

While the study can feel defeating for brands that have been unliked, there is a silver lining. Sixty-three percent of consumers said they were as likely or more likely to purchase something from a company after ending their Facebook relationship.

How often does your company post Facebook content? Daily, weekly? Have you found a magic number for the right amount?
