Help for indie dealers?

I just got back from Digital Dealer 11 in sunny Las Vegas and am so happy I had the opportunity to see friends and colleagues I hadn't seen in awhile. It seems as if there were a few notable companies making waves, but for the most part, it was the same players. Doesn't that seem to be the way the industry is looking these days? The same old players.

While there, I had the opportunity to meet with a dealer advocate group fighting against the same old players. They're tired of the corporate dealer groups taking out the little guys by bargaining down advertising and other prices unheard of for independent dealers. Here's a sobering statistic - In 1990, there were just over 900 dealership under large dealer group control. Today, there are around 1,300 dealerships or a 30% increase in only 20 years!  Thirty percent of our industry is controlled by the big players? Come on, little guys, step up and be noticed. This advocacy group will be free to dealers and will enable them to act all together as one large buying group, helping decrease costs through volume.

In the coming weeks you'll hear more about this company, but for now, know that help is coming for the little guy. If you want additional information on the service before the launch, shoot me an email or comment below and I'll get you in touch with the right people.
